Over the course of the next twelve months I have challenged myself to paint a plein air painting a week. I will post monthly updates on this page!
September Paintings:
OK, this is the last month of "A Year In Plein Painting". I had a wonderful time again capturing what was around me throughout the month. I enjoyed some great fall weather and only caught a few raindrops! I can't believe a whole year of painting is done! What to do now?!
August Paintings:
The month of August was full of excitement. I had a few plein air painting events that I attended. They were lots of fun and gave an opportunity to see some fresh scenery. I enjoyed good weather and took advantage of it when I could!
July Paintings:
What a month of painting July was! I painted some close to home but also spent some time in Maine. the rocky Maine coastline is always a very interesting subject even in the fog! I had eight paintings for this month but I sold one right off my easel! Missed "Little Italy" in the group Picture.
June Paintings:
This month was great. I enjoyed painting in Exeter, NH at the Independents Museum during their Plein Air event. I also was able to make it to Sugar Hill, NH to paint the Lupines, thou the fields were not full. Had lots of great painting weather!
May Paintings:
It was yet another great month of plein air painting! The biggest challenge this month was the transition from my winter paint palette to spring. It was hard to finally let the snow go!
April Paintings:
This month it seemed like a tug of war between spring and winter. We got some late snow that I had fun capturing before spring came into full swing! Although I enjoyed painting this winter I am looking forward to some fresh colors on my palette!
March Paintings:
I had another great month of plein air painting. although it is spring we still have some snow around! Most of these paintings are from around my house except for one. I enjoyed getting to North Conway for a day of painting. Mt. Washington stayed in the clear for me! I got the chance to talk with some very nice people. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi!
February Paintings:
This month I had a wonderful time plein air painting on snowshoes and in snowbanks. I spent some time in the field by my house painting. The snow is deep so it always made for an interesting and fun day. I had to snowshoe and pack out a platform to paint from. I also painted one from the car of Yeaton Farm. I was thankful to have the shelter of the car to stay out of the wind! Hope you enjoy viewing these. Be sure to follow the link above to see them in more detail!
January Paintings:
Well we got some snow this month! With the snow came some cold weather. I enjoyed every minute of it! There were lots of great shadows to catch this month! Spent a lot of the time close to home. The Landscapes this month are all from one of my favorite places to spend the winter.
December Paintings:
This month we started getting some colder weather! Although it was a green Christmas at the Portland Lighthouse. Had a wonderful time spending the day at Fort Williams with temps at almost 50! Lots of fun painting this month. Hope you enjoy these ones!
